Boland College has strengthened its standing as one of South Africa’s leading public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions after receiving two significant honours at the TVETCGC 2nd Annual TVET Awards & Gala Dinner 2026.
The College was recognised as the winner in the categories Clean Audit: 2025 and Clean Audit: Longest Period, acknowledging both its most recent audit performance and its ability to sustain clean governance and financial management over an extended period. For Boland College, the recognition extends beyond financial compliance. A clean audit reflects credible financial reporting, effective controls and adherence to the regulatory framework governing public institutions. Sustaining this standard over an extended period demonstrates consistency and an institutional culture in which accountability remains a priority.
Boland College Principal, Mr Charles Goodwin, said the achievement is closely connected to the College’s responsibility towards its students and the communities it serves. “We are entrusted with public resources for a very specific purpose: to create opportunities through quality education and training. We therefore have a responsibility to ensure that every resource placed in our care is managed with integrity, discipline and accountability. Good governance ultimately strengthens our ability to deliver on our mandate to our students.”
Chairperson of the Boland College Council, Mr Neil Jansen, said maintaining clean audit outcomes over an extended period demonstrates the importance the institution places on responsible governance. “Public institutions earn trust through what they do consistently. Sustaining clean audit outcomes requires discipline, transparency and a clear understanding that the resources entrusted to an institution must be managed responsibly. Strong governance provides the foundation from which Boland College can remain sustainable, grow and continue responding to the needs of its students, communities and the economy.”
The College extends particular recognition to its Finance team, whose expertise, diligence and commitment to sound financial management continue to play a critical role in maintaining these standards.

From academic delivery and student support to administration, operations and corporate services, the work undertaken across Boland College contributes to an environment in which resources can be directed towards what matters most: student success.
