Programmes
A full-time programme entails that students must attend classes during the week at campus. Times for classes differ from programme to programme and timetables are available for students from February of each year. Two full-time programme streams are offered:
National N-Diploma (N4-N6)
A variety of National Certificate programmes are offered by Boland College in the following fields: Management Programmes including Marketing, Financial Management, Human Resource, Business Management, Hospitality and Catering Services, Tourism, Engineering Studies, Agricultural Studies, Public Management, Management Assistant, Medical Secretary and Legal Secretary.
National Certificate (Vocational) (Level 2-4)
The variety of National Certificate (Vocational) (NCV) programmes offered are intended to directly respond to the priority skills demands of the South African economy. These qualifications are designed to provide both the theory and practical experience related to a particular vocational field. Students are advised to complete all three levels of training before they seek employment.
National Certificate (Vocational) (NQF Levels 2, 3 and 4) are offered in the following fields: Civil Engineering and Building Construction, Engineering and Related Design, Electrical Infrastructure Construction, Office Administration, Information Technology & Computer Science, Safety in Society and Education & Development.
To prepare students for access into a TVET college to follow a specific vocational learning path, and with the learning foundations provided to improve the students’ chances of completion. PLP prepares a student for a specific career path in NCV, NATED and Report 191 courses, and where applicable, for occupational qualifications at NQF levels 2-4 -QCTO will recognise the PLP for entry into certain occupational qualifications, following the matching of curricula.
A learnership is a programme that combines work-based experience with structured learning – thus combining theory with practice. Extensive skills training (plastering, bricklaying, and painting) in various disciplines take place at Boland College centres.
