Boland College has proudly secured the title of Provincial COSACSA Track and Field Champions following two days of spirited and highly competitive athletics. Demonstrating exceptional talent, determination, and teamwork, the college’s athletes delivered an outstanding overall performance, earning an impressive medal tally of 21 Gold, 20 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals.
Athletes from across the province gathered to compete at this prestigious event, but it was Boland College’s consistency, preparation, and unity that set them apart. From the first event to the final race, the team showcased not only athletic excellence but also the resilience and sportsmanship that define Boland College. Importantly, the championships once again highlighted the college’s commitment to inclusivity in sport. Students of all abilities participated and contributed meaningfully to the team’s success, reinforcing Boland College’s dedication to creating opportunities for every student to thrive, both on and off the field.
Mrs. Romenia Baxter, Assistant Director for Student Support and Developmental Services, shared her pride in the team’s accomplishment: “It is a privilege to have such an inclusive team of amazing sportsmen and ladies that competes with heart, determination, and unity. Boland College is not just building champions on the track; we are building champions in life.”
With the provincial title now secured, Boland College sets its sights on the upcoming National COSACSA championships if students are picked to represent Team Western Cape. The team is motivated to build on this success and continue representing the college with pride, excellence, and determination on a national stage.
