On Wednesday, 14 January 2026, the Student Support and Developmental Services and Human Resource Management departments met with Dr. Molape and his team from the I CAN Leadership Institution to explore a potential partnership and areas of collaboration. Dr. David Molapo is an acclaimed motivational leadership figure in Africa and internationally. He is the founder of the I CAN Leadership Institute Africa and the CEO of I CAN 4IR.

The engagement focused on aligning leadership development, student & staff wellness and social impact initiatives that would benefit students, staff and institutional leadership. Discussions included inspirational and ongoing leadership talks for students and SRC members; leadership and wellness sessions for the leadership team, staff and lecturers; as well as a binge-drinking awareness train-the-trainer programme for peer educators and student leaders. The proposed collaboration may also include a partnership programme aimed at supporting students facing food insecurity challenges.
