Boland College Academic Procession
Boland College proudly hosted its Annual Certificate and Diploma Awards Ceremony on 27 and 28 August 2025 at the newly refreshed Worcester Campus Main Hall. The event was a celebration of academic achievement, resilience, and inclusivity, with graduates, families, staff, and special guests coming together for two memorable days.
The graduation featured inspiring keynote addresses from distinguished guest speakers: Professor Thakur on Day 1, and Mr. Nezaam Joseph on Day 2. Both speakers encouraged graduates to continue striving for excellence, to be leaders in their communities, and to embody the values of perseverance and innovation.
This year’s graduation marked a historic moment for Boland College as it celebrated its first deaf graduate. To ensure full inclusivity, South African Sign Language Interpreters (SASLIs) were present throughout the event. In addition, the College proudly saw the second cohort of blind graduates completing their studies. Braille programmes were prepared for these graduates, ensuring they could fully participate in the ceremony.
These milestones are a testament to Boland College’s commitment to providing accessible education for all.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a Special Award to the Hein Wagner Academy (HWA), in recognition of their invaluable contribution to the College. Their partnership continues to uplift and support the Boland College community.
Adding to the spirit of the celebration, the HWA and Worcester Campus Choir beautifully led the singing of the National Anthem on both days, uniting the audience in a moment of national pride.
The 2025 Graduation Ceremony was more than just the conclusion of an academic journey; it was a reflection of Boland College’s vision for excellence, inclusivity, and community. With proud graduates, supportive families, and a dedicated team behind the scenes, the event once again showcased the College’s role as a beacon of opportunity in the region.
“Graduation is not only a celebration of academic achievement, but also of resilience, diversity, and the promise of a brighter future,” said Mr. Charles Goodwin, Principal of Boland College. “Our graduates inspire us all, and it is our privilege as an institution to walk alongside them on their journey to success.”
As Boland College continues to grow, innovate, and inspire, the graduates of 2025 stand as shining examples of what can be achieved through dedication, hard work, and a supportive academic environment.
