SENIOR OFFICER: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (SOOHS/HO/11/22)

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Recognized three-year National Diploma (NQF 6) / Degree in Safety Management or related qualification
  2. Three to five years of relevant work experience in Facilities Management, SHERQ and OHS environment
  3. Knowledge of the Public Service Act and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, immovable Asset Management Act, Telephone Management system, fire control system and facilities management system
  4. Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and related Regulations
  5. Computer literacy
  6. Marketing Research Skills
  7. Planning and organizing
  8. Financial Management
  9. Good communication skills
  10. Client Oriented
  11. Valid drivers license

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure overall supervision, coordination, implementation, and monitor compliance on SHERQ programmes
  2. Ensure overall supervision and coordinate the establishment of an OHS committee
  3. Ensure overall supervision and conduct OHS-related training and continuing educational programmes
  4. Ensure overall supervision and identify hazards and risks at the workplace and initiate appropriate actions
  5. Ensure overall supervision, develop, Implement and monitor the SHERQ management system
  6. Supervise human, physical, financial, and other resources
  7. Audit of H&S files (Contractors/Service Providers)
  8. Environmental management

R331 188 per annum plus benefits (Benefits include a thirteenth cheque. Membership of the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) is compulsory.
