The Employment Equity Act, 1998 (Act No. 55 of 1998) was promulgated to give effect to the constitutional principles and objectives of reddressing the effects of unfair discrimination and inequality in the workplace of the past which prevailed as a result of apartheid and other discriminatory policies.

Boland College recognises that establishing equity is a business imperative and to remedy these imbalances and create equality in employment it is necessary to eliminate unfair discrimination in all its employment practices as well as to embark on positive action to redress the imbalances of the past.
